The Two-Sheds Total Comments Standard of Software Design and Programming
In my spare time I do a spot of programming for IT departments of various Global Investment Banks in the City of London. I am a very diligent programmer and lavishly embellish my code with meaningful comments.
So zealous I am of proper commenting that I have developed the technique of writing the comments first and then building the code around what I've just written. This has proved to have enormous benefits. Quite often it becomes apparent that my comments are so good that I don't need any executable code at all. Many of my programs have ended up being comprised entirely of comments.
Needless to say, the advantages of such programs are terrific. No compiling or linking problems, very little maintenance, no crashes and no memory leaks. If only all software could be written to the Two-Sheds Total Comments Standard.
