Guidelines

The beauty of wikis is that they allow pages to be developed by more than one author. If you feel you've got something to add to a page that will enhance it, then you can just go in and do it. Spotted a glaring speling mistake? Correct it.

However, please do not abuse all this power we've bestowed upon you. By working within these guidelines, poowiki will prosper and you will benefit from it, oh yes indeed.

  • Ensure that any changes you make to an existing page improve that page. As a courtesy it would be appreciated if you could inform pooclub that you've edited a page, unless it's a triflingly small change such as a spelling or grammar correction.

  • Pages that are obviously the personal property of another member (e.g. essays or information about the author) should not be touched at all.

  • Wiki pages have no concept of hierarchy, meaning that pages cannot be grouped together under a 'title' page. However, you can similate this by creating an index of pages common to a particular theme. For example, it is convenient to have a personal page with a link to it in the 'Members' pages' list and then put links to all your other pages within your personal page.

  • Don't be put off by the fear that all your hard work could be wiped out by some malicious ne'erdowell. We can recover old versions of pages, though naturally we'd prefer not to have to do this very often. And needless to say, anyone who behaves in such a heinous way will have their poowiki contributor status revoked.

Style

To keep things consistent across the wiki please try to keep your pages within the same style as the others. The best way to do this is to look at the wiki codes that have been used to generate other pages (click on that page's Edit button). Also, you should adhere to the following standards.

  • Use CamelCase when choosing a new page name and then ! Your Page Title on the first line of your page.

  • Use !! A Section In Your Page to title a section or paragraph and !!! A Sub-section for lesser titles.

We'll add some more standards here once we've made them up. Hey, it's a new wiki, this! We don't know what it should look like yet. You can find out how to use the wiki codes here.

Finally

Don't mess with this wiki or we'll set the dogs on you. Naomi and LeeAnn are particularly vicious and can bring a man down before he's had the chance to say "What the fuck's that....? Aaaaaarrrrggghhhh!"
