Welcome to the Quiz
Welcome, my friends and others to the Event Quiz. There are lots of questions, and there are more questions than answers, largely because there are unanswered questions.
This is called the Event Quiz because all those who submit a correct answer will be invited to a major event.
Please put your answers, with your name, here in the Wiki.
Question Zero
Where do these questions come from?
| Mike: |
Ian looked them all up on the internet. |
Well, that's wrong for a start. These questions predate the commercial internet.
| Ciaran: |
Either (a) Toronto, or (b) Knobcone, Loveland. |
| Mike: |
All right then, they come from before the commercial internet. |
Question One
What is the gestation period of a gibbon?
| Mike: |
Crested, hoolock, dark-handed, Kloss's, white-handed, silvery, gray, or capped? |
There's still plenty of opportunity to get the answers to these questions right.
Obviously Mike has no interest in the Event.
| Ciaran: |
I think it's about seven months. |
| Mike: |
Oh all right then, the gestation period of a gibbon is about seven months. |
Question Two
Who was the leader of the Blackfoot Indians in the late 1860s?
| Mike: |
Was it Two Dogs Fucking? |
| Ciaran: |
I think it was Crowfoot. |
| Mike: |
OK, here's my real guess. Crowfoot |
Question Three
Approximately when did Freud start psychiatry?
| Ciaran: |
I reckon round about 8:40 in the morning |
| Mike: |
Oo, now, let's see. He was an early riser, so allowing for time to get dressed, have breakfast, get to the office through the Vienese rush hour, I'd say about... twenty to nine? |
No, one of these answers are both the same. And wrong. And Mike can't spell "Viennese" correctly.
| Mike: |
Hello...? Am I right, then? |
Patent nonsense, I'm afraid.
| Mike: |
OK, he began in the 1880's |
Question Four
Who is the patron saint of travellers?
Corianderdog: St. Christopher was only he's been demoted so Mr. Christopher?
Question Five
Who wrote The Pirate?
| Mike: |
Do you mean The Pirate Sketch? "I bought this pirate not half an hour ago from this very boutique..." |
Mike, you have no idea how close you are to winning the big prize with this answer. But not quite close enough, unfortunately for you.
Question Six
What is the name of the drink made from vodka and tomato juice?
| Brian: |
Is it Vomato? |
| Mike: |
Is it Cillit Bang? |
Corianderdog: A bloody mary.
Question Zero
| Mike: |
Right. Back to the big question now. Do they all come from Fawlty Towers? |
Corianderdog: No, they come from Mastermind.
