Shed Music

Not long ago I poured myself a bowl of cereal and was amazed by the freebie that popped out of the packet.

Now, when I was a boy you'd be lucky if you got a plastic dinosaur or a sticker, but on this occasion I got one of those mixing desks that DJs use to stick bits of "choonz" together to make another "choon". OK, it was a CD ROM that you shove on your PC and use the software to create your own music, but nonetheless it was a breakfast cereal freebie of no small singularity in my opinion.

So, I excitedly slipped it in the CD drive and discovered exactly how DJs make electronic music. You'd think it would be all complicated with fancy terminology like multiphase-hiweebly-gram or dimodular-amplitudinal-capacitance that you'd have to get your head round, but it's not like that at all. All you have to do is drag-n-drop chunks of music (called "samples") into your "choon". And that's all there is to it!

But I thought, even so, I'm sure I'll be able to cock it up and make something that sounds really terrible and unlistenable, but try as I might I invariably came up with something that sounded right and proper, just like the stuff you hear in clubs and on the radio.

So, here I present for your enjoyment and delectation, not house nor garage, but shed music! Behold DeeJay-2-Shed's "Half Bag Of Solid Cement" Mix in glorious MP3 format. Stick it on your ipod.
